No, this adapter (AC-AC) does NOT convert voltage. It simply adapts the physical plug shape to fit international outlets. Before using, you must ensure that your AC-powered device supports dual voltage and the input specification reads “100-240V, 50/60Hz”. In the US and Canada, the standard voltage is 110-120V, while in most other countries, it is 220-230V.
We do not recommend using high-power appliances over 2000W, even if they support dual voltage, as the built-in 10A fuse might pop to prevent damage. Furthermore, many manufacturers, such as Dyson, intentionally do not make dual-voltage high-power devices for safety reasons. Portable travel adapters cannot safely handle such high power over extended periods of time.
If the USB ports are functioning but the main AC outlet is not, it is highly likely that the main fuse blew to protect your devices. You can quickly fix this problem by replacing the blown fuse with the spare fuse that is conveniently included in the package. If you need more, you can easily purchase replacements online by searching for “TA-105C replacement fuse”.
